Jane Sue Gehman, 89, of Coopersburg passed away on March 9, 2025. She was born in Nappanee, IN on July 8, 1935 to the late Roy and Pearl (Hochstetler) Strauss. Jane was the loving wife of Henry Ross Gehman for 67 years. She was a dedicated nurse her entire life, spending 14 years at Zohlman Nursing Home (now Phoebe Richland), 5 years at Quakertown Manor Nursing & Rehab, and 10 years at Valley Manor. Jane served 10 years on the Auxilliary Board at Frederick Mennonite Community. She also volunteered at East Swamp Church and Springfield Mennonite Church her entire life, with a particular passion for missions both home and abroad. Jane was an avid reader, enjoyed nature, and spending time with her family and friends. She was blessed with the gift of hospitality and made for a great hostess.
Jane is survived by her husband Henry; children Carol Hippensteel (Dave) and Christopher Gehman (Anita); Jonathan (Rani), Heather, Joelle, & Troy Hippensteel, Danielle (Caleb) Ruch, Jason (Dakota), Carli, & Timothy Gehman; great grandchildren Natalie & Gideon Ruch; sister Joan Walsh; sisters-in-law Addie (Rush) Gehman, Dorothy (Bauder) Gehman, Dot (Simmons) Gehman and many other loving family and friends. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings Lyle Strauss, Lara Honderich, Dorothy Johnson, Jean Phillips, and Betty Weldy.
All are invited on Saturday, April 5 to Naugle Funeral & Cremation Service, 135 W. Pumping Station Rd., Quakertown, PA 18951 for a visitation from 12:00-1:00pm, and a memorial service at 1:00pm. A private burial will take place prior to the service at Springfield Mennonite Church, Coopersburg.
