Jane Holt

"I win either way!"
This was Jane Holt's favorite saying during her short illness. She knew that as her days on Earth grew to a close she could look forward with peace and anticipation to her promotion to Heaven. Jane was promoted to Heaven on October 2, 2022.
Jane was born on July 10, 1936, in Muncie to Albert and Avis Neeley and her older brother William.
Jane graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1954. She was in the Muncie Central Cheer Block and loved to tell the story of the 1954 Indiana State High School Basketball State Final game against Milan. After all these years Jane still remembered how "all the air went out of Hinkle Fieldhouse when Bobby Plump hit that last minute miracle shot." She stated the bus ride back to Muncie was one of shock and total silence from the Bearcat Cheer Block.
Jane married the love of her life, Wayne Holt, on August 28, 1955. She would always laugh when telling the story how they were both in Heekin Park when Wayne was 13 and Jane was 12. He threw a baseball that hit Jane in the face and broke her glasses. Wayne got scared. He went home and his mom made him ride his bike back to Jane's house, apologize and offer to pay for her glasses. It was the beginning of a wonderful life-long love story. They were married for 59 years.
Wayne and Jane traveled often, visiting all fifty states and several foreign countries. They enjoyed winters in Florida.
After twenty-four years, Jane retired from Coovert Heating and Air Conditioning in Muncie.
Jane was a longtime member of Glad Tidings Church, Muncie, and served in various volunteer positions throughout the years.
Jane loved her family and on her last full Sunday on Earth, she attended church and a picnic with twenty members of her family. She considered it an honor that all family members, within driving distance of Muncie, attended with her.
Her faith was strong and she was an inspiration to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren on how to fully trust God, even during the most difficult season of life.
Jane is survived by three daughters, two sons-in-law, six grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son-in-law.
Once Jane realized she was on her way to Heaven, she was full of joy and anticipation. In lieu of a traditional memorial service and flowers, her family has chosen to follow Jane's example and continue the joyfulness theme in a manner that would make Jane happy.
