Jane Hudson Obituary

Jane Hudson
06/04/1944 - 02/06/2023
Jane Hudson died at Southwest Memorial Hospital on February 6, 2023. She was born June 4, 1944 in Texarkana Texas to Alton Byron and Ida Duke Warrenburg. She spent the majority of her life in Houston Texas, graduating from Spring Branch High School and attending Texas Women's University in Denton, Texas.
Jane spent her professional life in the type setting and information management industries in Houston, including being President of Docuset, a computer type setting company. She and her partner, Harry Parker, founded b-4-u-eat, a Houston restaurant guide that was on BBS and the internet for 23 years, giving restaurant opening and closing news and allowing users to share experiences and reviews.
Jane was affectionately known as Hane or Juana. She was vivacious, had a great sense of humor and a fantastic, razor sharp, often sardonic wit. She was creative and saw the world differently in the best way possible. She enjoyed diving, wine and travel. Jane loved meeting people no matter where - a restaurant, airplane, social media or an uber driver - and was fascinated by their stories.
Jane was a fun grandparent. She loved her grandkids dearly and was so proud of them. A lifelong Texans and Astros fan, she loved her time with her dogs Asta and Gus. In retirement, she was an avid gardener, enjoying spending time in her garden, planting and harvesting her vegetables and then cooking them.
Jane remained resilient and hopeful in the face of adversity. She had strong values and was fiercely independent, sometimes stubborn, and not afraid to speak up for what she believed. She will be missed by many.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents and her son, David Hudson. She is survived by her son Ronnie Hudson, her brother William Warrenburg, sister-in law Julie Warrenburg and niece Melissa Warrenburg. Jane is also survived by grandchildren Jane Hudson, Jessica Hudson, Christine Hudson, Sydney Hudson, Ron Hudson Jr, and many great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Grandma,
You will be missed dearly. Im so happy that I got the chance to see you one last time, although I didn´t know that would be the last. Thank you for being such a wonderful grandmother to me growing up. I will cherish all those memories forever, from going over to your house, riding with the top down singing " Wanna Be A Baller" and our Barnes & Noble trips. I will miss our emails updating each other on life and sharing interesting things we came across. Love you grandma, I know you´re in heaven having a nice glass of wine smiling down.

From what I´ve heard, your mother was a phenomenal business woman, grandmother, excelled at most she tackled. I would have enjoyed to know her! What good memories you must have. Lean on them to remind you of the joy she brought into your life. Mothers hearts and endless love somehow always remain with you!
My deepest condolences,

I knew Jane via the Internet and her website. We use to chat together about restaurants. She was a good person. May she rest in peace!
