Jane Mary Jarecki of Saginaw, Michigan
Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at her home. She was 77 years old. Jane Mary Ward was born on September 29, 1946, in Saginaw, Michigan, to the late Geroge Edward and Mary Margaret (Hackett) Ward Jr. She attended SS. Peter and Paul Schools until 11th Grade; graduating from Arthur Hill High School in 1964. While out with friends at a gathering, Jane was asked to dance by Jerry J. Jarecki. They dated, fell in love, and were united in marriage on March 22, 1980; he preceded her in death on January 11, 2014. Jane was employed with Saginaw Public School, first as a crossing guard and later as a lunch aide. She retired after many years of loyal and dedicated service. The role of her lifetime, one that surpassed everything in her life, was to be a loving and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. Eternally optimistic, Jane always seen the glass half full. She empowered everyone with her upbeat and positive attitude. Her little piece of heaven was having fun with family and friends, laughing, and playing cards, especially her favorite game 13. Jane had a strong faith, attending church every Sunday, and would often pray the rosary. She was truly a priceless and profound spirit who will be missed by all. Jane leaves her indelible mark on this world through her compassion and empathy, for lighting up a room whenever she entered, for having a warm and loving heart, and for truly living an amazing life filled with many beautiful memories and stories.
Surviving are Matthew (Cora) Jarecki of Saginaw; Jill (Ryan) Mulka of Saginaw; six grandchildren: Evelyn Jarecki, Hailee Jarecki, Wyatt Jarecki, Owen Mulka, Emmett Mulka, and Eva Mulka all of Saginaw; two brothers and two sisters: George (Margaret) Ward III of Ann Arbor; Jim Ward of Livonia; Anne Federspiel of Saginaw; Janet Shockley of Traverse City; a sister-in-law, Jackie McGhee of CA; Joann Jarecki of Saginaw. Also surviving are many loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Jarecki; parents, George and Mary Ward Jr., three brothers-in-law, Bill Federspiel, Gene Jarecki, and John McGhee. Honoring Jane's wishes, cremation has taken place.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 1, 2024, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State Street, Saginaw, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Steve Gavit will officiate.
