Jane Alice (Atwater) Jimenez was born in Old Town McGrath, Alaska, to Harding
Dawes Atwater and Alice Atwater. Jane passed away June 2, 2022, at Matanuska
Susitna Hospital after a short illness at 71 years of age. She was a resident of Knik,
Alaska.
Jane graduated from Talkeetna High School on May 24, 1972. She went on and
received a Certificate for Clerical Studies from Southwestern Polytechnic Institute,
Albuquerque, New Mexico, on June 14, 1973. She was a former Timekeeper for the
Alaska Native Medical Center for 8 years. Thereafter, she moved to Knik, Alaska, in
the Summer of 1982. She was a member of the Jehovah's Witness organization.
Jane did beautiful knitting and crocheting projects. She loved all of her fur babies,
most recently Midji and Pinky.
She is survived by her companion, Jim Bettridge; daughter, Janel Scott (Kevin);
grandchildren, Stephen Scott and Elizabeth Scott; sisters and brother, Mary Sweeney,
Rose Brady, Benjamin Atwater and Carol Atwater; and many nieces and nephews.
Jane was preceded in death by her long-time companion, Neil Snider; her parents,
Harding Dawes Atwater and Alice Atwater; and, siblings, Helen Atwater, Everett
Atwater and Steve Atwater.
Upon request, Jane requested to be cremated and that no services be held. In a quiet
moment of reflection, the family asks that you think of a time that Jane brought a
smile to your face. She loved animals, so donations can be made in her name to
Friends of Pets.
