Jane Anne (Abderhalden) Kenney of Brunswick, Ohio left her earthly home on Sunday October 5th, 2025. She continued her journey to the heavenly Animal Rainbow Bridge to find her cat buddies who were waiting to greet her there. Jane is smiling, laughing and covered with fur.
Jane was born September 12, 1946 in Lima, Ohio to Robert Bruce and Mary Martha (Koch) Abderhalden. Her family moved to Millersburg when she was 5 years old. Jane was a member of the class of 1964 which was the last class to graduate from Millersburg High School. She attended Baldwin-Wallace College. She was a cheerleader in both high school and college. She married James William Amos in 1965 and they had a daughter, Kimber Lee. Jane later married Michael Alan Kenney in 1990. She worked at the Ceilcote Company in Berea, Ohio for 20 years and traveled parts of the United States for trade shows and technical sales. Jane returned to school and became a Registered Nurse. She worked as a psychiatric nurse at Fairview Hospital and continued working in the medical field throughout her career.
Jane liked to watch her mom in the kitchen and learned to cook and bake at an early age. Her favorite thing to make was Christmas sweet rolls in her mom's memory, which she lovingly shared with family and friends every year. Halloween was her favorite holiday complete with decorations galore! Every year Jane would create a fun costume and go trick-or-treating at the neighborhood doors.
A love of animals (especially cats) led to the rescue of over 150 kittens from her own neighborhood over the course of 5 years. She provided vet care and found homes for every one of them. Any animal that was looking for dinner found their way to Jane's yard and it was not just cats. All wild animals were welcomed.
"A hundred years from now, it will not matter the sort of house I lived in, what my bank account was, or the car I drove...but the world may be different because I was important in the life of the animals and the creatures on this Earth". Author unknown.
Jane was a member of Eastern Star and the Presbyterian Church in Millersburg. She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, Michael A. Kenney; her precious daughter, Kimber Lee Sundevall (Petrus); amazing grand-daughter, Rowan Sofia; brother, Dr. Thomas Abderhalden (Carol); brother, David Abderhalden (Natalie); sister, Sara Price (Alden); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Bruce Abderhalden and mother, Mary Martha (Koch) Abderhalden.
A private graveside service with family and friends will be held at her Abderhalden family's plot at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Millersburg. Donations in Jane's memory can be made to an animal shelter or pet rescue organization of your choice.
