Jane Moudry Kozan

Jane Moudry Kozan, 66 of Round Lake Heights was born to eternal life with God on Tuesday, March 21, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. She was born to Vlasta "Val" Sladek and Jaroslav "Jerry" Moudry on February 27, 1957. She met and married her soulmate Ralph "Rick" Kozan in 2009. Since then, they have been inseparable and often enjoyed going on trips throughout the country. Jane and Rick would pack up their motor home with the puppies (Dexter, Beau, and Sofie), their bicycles, and a fully stocked fridge to hit the road for another adventure. She especially enjoyed walking along the shoreline, barefoot in the sand, collecting stones and shells to add to her ever-growing collection. She enjoyed playing pool and watching shows/movies with her son Kevin and spending quality time with her loved ones. She yearned to be a grandmother and beamed with joy when she was blessed with two granddaughters in 2022. One being her namesake Aurora Jane Kostelnik and Karsyn Ellen Kozan. Her travels influenced her love of the outdoors and nature. She was very in tune with plants and animals. Jane would watch and admire every new leaf that would grow on her many houseplants and the beautiful trees in her yard. Jane could spend hours reading the word of God. Her greatest passion was the Lord. Her small study groups were very important to her and were an intricate part of her strong faith in God. She was admirably calm and graceful when faced with devastating speed bumps in her journey which can be attributed to her trust in God's plan for her. Jane was a detail oriented and passionate woman. She was resilient, loving, and ever so kind to every person and animal she crossed paths with. Her biggest love and treasure were being with her family, making memories to be cherished for a lifetime.
Jane is survived by her husband Rick Kozan; children Anthony (Violet) & Kevin (Rebecca); step-children Katelyn, Khloe, & Kristian (Emily); grandchildren Aurora Jane and Karsyn Ellen. She additionally leaves behind her sister Anne Szarek & lifelong best friend Nena McKain.
She joins her parents Val Sladek & Jerry Moudry; dogs Smokey, Pepe, Pikachu, Bear, Shadow, and Dexter in eternal paradise.
A celebration of Jane's life will be held at The Chapel, 25270 W. IL Route 60, Grayslake, IL. Visitation at 9:30 am & service at 10:30 am on Friday, April 14th, 2023. There will be a luncheon to follow.
