Jane Harris Regula of Bolivar passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025 at her home. The daughter of the late Virginia Brannon Harris and Arvil Ernest Harris, Jane was born December 9, 1946 in Huntington, WV and lived there throughout her childhood. Jane was a graduate of Marshall University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Education and later a Master of Education at Kent State University. Jane was always called to serve others. She started her teaching career in Huntington, WV and later taught elementary school in the New Philadelphia City Schools. She retired after serving as a gifted education teacher through the Tuscarawas County Educational Service Center. Jane was an active member of St. John United Church of Christ where she sang in the church choir and volunteered in many capacities. She volunteered regularly in the St. John clothes closet, school supply give-a-away and prepared meals for the community homeless shelter. Jane enjoyed reading, gardening, spending time in nature, traveling with family, theatre and the arts. Jane was a kind, warm, and welcoming individual who found purpose and gratification in caring for those she loved. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Charles Thomas Regula. Together Jane and Charles raised three children, Elizabeth Whitaker (Craig), Virginia Regula (Jason Knapp), and Adam Regula (Jamie). She is also survived by two grandsons, Thomas and Jonathan Whitaker; one sister, Mary Kate Ambler (David); three sisters-in-law, Karen Ruff, Deborah Regula, and Sheila Ruddle (Charlie); and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers please direct donations to your local food bank, Heifer International, or the ACLU in Jane's memory. The Lebold-Smith Funeral Home in Bolivar is handling the arrangements.
