Jane H. Riley, longtime Pennsauken resident, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on July 21, 1949, Jane's journey began in the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand with her husband, Athol, where they spent their early years before moving to Pennsauken. It was there that they laid down roots and nurtured a family that would be the center of her world. Their enduring love story spanned over 54 years, a testament to their unwavering commitment to each other.
A devoted mother, Jane's legacy is carried on through her children: her son James Riley, her daughter Katherine Wilson, and her husband Paul. Though her daughter Mary Jane Riley preceded her in death, the memories they shared continue to bring warmth to the hearts of those who knew them. Jane's brother, Peter Roland, and his wife Melinda, also survive her, and together they share a lifetime of cherished moments.
Jane's life was marked by her thoughtful nature and her passion for the world around her. A longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church in Merchantville, she found solace and community within its walls.
Her garden was a reflection of her soul, with roses that bloomed as if to compete with her own inner beauty. Jane's love for reading allowed her to traverse worlds and times, a hobby that provided endless joy and respite. But above all, her heart belonged to animals, and she found great happiness in their unconditional love and companionship.
Family gatherings were Jane's most treasured moments, where laughter and love filled the air. She was the embodiment of what it means to be loving, kind, and thoughtful. Her gentle spirit and nurturing presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
As per her wishes, services and interment will be private. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Animal Welfare Association. (awanj.org)
