Karen Sue Riley

Memorial services for Karen Sue Riley, 75, of Vandalia, will be at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Vandalia, with Pastor Jamie Franke officiating. Burial will follow in the Vandalia Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mrs. Riley passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Karen was born on October 19, 1950, to Raymond and Loretta Moore Roberts in Gazette, Missouri. She was united in marriage to George A Riley on July 29, 1972. Karen was the youngest of 5 girls.
Karen grew up in Vandalia and attended Van-Far and graduated with the Class of 1968. Early in her career, she worked at the garment factory in Laddonia and Vandalia. She spent 13 years with the help of Brenda Scroggin delivering the St. Louis Post Dispatch around the City of Vandalia. Karen finished her career working for Water's Furniture for over 20 years. She was known by many for her great customer service while assisting them with their furniture selections.
She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, George, sisters; Shirley Benz of St. Louis and Linda Fern Grote of Bowling Green, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Though they weren't blessed with children, there were many dogs that received their loving care.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Rosetta Joyce Botts and Martha Charlene Busch, brother in laws; Phillip Grote, Louis Botts, Bill Riley, and sister-in-law; Alma Shaw.
