Jane Carol Rollason was born on October 25, 1946 in Kentucky to her parents, Estelle and Richard Rollason. She graduated from Mclean High School in Mclean, VA, and from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. She had a long career as a Human Resources Executive at several long-term care companies, Sunny Acres, Inc., Pinon Management and Innovage. In 1986, Jane married the love of her life, Joanna Patrick, on Flagstaff Mountain in Boulder, CO. They were currently living in Canon City, CO.
Jane was passionate about life and love, and her favorite passions included music, motorcycles and meows (cats). She was an accomplished classical guitarist and folk singer. She often wove original tunes into her training sessions for work. To say Jane was an avid motorcyclist is a bit of an understatement – she owned 140 street legal motorcycles over the course of her life and was known by most dealerships. Jane was the quintessential "cat lady," not because she had a large number of cats, but because she loved them deeply and was often referred to as a "cat whisperer" for her gentle way of communicating with them. Jane and Joanna loved to take treks into the mountains on their motorcycles. Skyline Drive was a favorite ride. Jane was a romantic, and she carefully planned birthday, anniversary, and holiday presents to represent special times from the past or in the person's life. She could be silly too. She loved to entertain family and friends with wonderful music followed by a very silly "Chicken Song" that she composed.
Jane is survived by her spouse, JoAnna Patrick of Canon City; her sister, Linda Pixton of O'Fallon, Il; and brother, Richard Rollason of Inverness, FL. She is also survived by a gaggle of Patricks, Pixtons, Damkoehlers and amazing friends whom she loved dearly. We will all miss her wry sense of humor, her love of fun, and her amazing strength. A memorial service will be planned for the spring.
