Batavia - Jane Shepard passed away on March 25,2026 at home at age 72.
Jane was born September 21, 1953 in Rochester, a daughter of the late Francis Shepard and Addie Lou Wilson.
She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Dave McCarthy. Surviving are her sister Judy (Joe) D'Angelo, daughter Alison (Zachary) Spath and grandchildren Ava, Maxine, and Casimir. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, friends, and cats Leon & Tina.
Jane grew up in Byron and was a 1971 graduate of Byron-Bergen High School, she furthered her education at SUNY Oswego where she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Social Work. She retired from UMMC after a long career.
Jane had a beautiful singing voice and could often be heard singing along with songs being played.
There will be no prior visitation, a Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a date and location to be determined.
Arrangements were entrusted to the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street in Batavia.
