Jane Wirtz Obituary

Publish in a newspaper

Jane Wirtz, 82, found peace at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice on November 13, 2025.
She was born on March 4, 1943, in the town of Greenbush, a daughter to the late Herbert and Evangeline (Entringer) Wirtz.
Jane attended St. Claudius Grade School in Saint Cloud and graduated from Elkhart Lake - Glenbeulah High school in 1961. She worked at Borden's for 45 years and retired in 2006.
She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church and enjoyed her Monday and Thursday morning church coffee group. Jane loved to travel with her friends and family to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Europe, Door County, and many other locations.
Family was important to Jane, and she was the dear caregiver for her parents all her life. She was also an American Red Cross blood donor, sharing this gift to help many people.
Jane enjoyed listening to music, watching the birds from her patio window, and lunching with her friends. She was an avid Brewers & Packers fan and dined weekly at Schwarz's Supper Club in St. Ann, but Jane was never happier than when she was in the kitchen - cooking, canning, and baking goodies for relatives, friends, and all her nieces and nephews. You never left her home hungry or without a care package, and for many, your day would not have started or been complete without a morning chat with Jane.
Survivors include her siblings: Marlene (David) Schaefer, Joe (Terry) Wirtz, Pete (Rose) Wirtz, John (Elsie) Wirtz, sister-In-law Sandy (Robert) Wirtz. She is also survived by her godchildren, Tony Wirtz, Chris Schaefer, Jen Karpathian, and Abby Risse, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends, including Joanne Meyer, Bonnie Krupp, Kathy Klaeser, and Marian Freund.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Robert Wirtz, Denis & Pat Wirtz, Jacob Wirtz, Linda & Pat Zorn, Verla & Jerry Schneider, and great nephew Gabriel Wirtz.
Visitation will take place from 10 a.m. - noon on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 12:00 p.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth, with burial to follow.
Jane's family extends their thanks to the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center, Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Aurora at Home, and staff at the Aurora Heart Failure Clinic in West Bend for Jane's care. Also, a special thanks to the caregivers at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for their care and compassion during Jane's final hours. A special note of gratitude to her godchild, Abby, and her nephew, Justin Wirtz, for their constant support, time, patience, love, dedication, and always making sure that Jane's every need was attended to so she could remain in her home. She was truly blessed to have their assistance.
Jane will be remembered for her quick wit, her passion of cooking for others, and love for her country and all things patriotic, which was reflected in her wardrobe and her home decor. We would love for you to honor Jane by sporting your red, white, and blue when you come to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Jane's name.
