Janet Smith Bean, age 78, passed away on January 14, 2026. She was born on

September 10, 1947, in Lewiston, to loving parents Ruby and Elwin Smith. Janet

attended Morse High School in Bath, Maine, and later Wesleyan College in North

Carolina. She married Bob Bean on December 30, 1996, and together they built a life

filled with love, family, and cherished memories.

Janet found great joy in scrapbooking, as well as senior bus trips, visiting the beach,

exploring lighthouses, and spoiling her beloved grandchildren. Her warmth and

creativity touched the lives of everyone around her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elwin Smith, and her mother, Ruby Smith.

Janet is survived by her loving husband, Bob Bean; her daughter, Jessica Torres; her

grandchildren, Jaidan and Jackson Torres; her sister, Linda Baumgartner; and her

brother and sister-in-law, Lee and Debbie Smith.

A visitation will be held on January 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., followed by a

reception at Bruno's Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be

made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
