Janet Sue Beggs (nee Kline) peacefully passed away on October 8, 2024. Janet was born on May 11, 1950, in Dodge City, KS. She was the fourth of five children to Noble and Elizabeth Kline. Janet cherished her family deeply and was proud of her Kansas roots. Some of her fondest memories come from growing up in Dodge City, whether it was working at her father's restaurant, being part of the drill team, or cruising down Wyatt Earp Boulevard. It was also in Dodge City where she met the love of her life, Robin.
On September 8, 1970, Janet and Robin were married in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together, they raised eight children: Jill Beggs Tolley (Springville, UT, married to Brian Tolley), Jody Beggs Scott (Wichita, KS, married to Kip Scott), Aaron Kemp Beggs (Lenexa, KS, married to Dawn Dodd Beggs), Shawn Eric Beggs (Shawnee, KS, married to Kaitlin Owens Beggs), Phillip James Beggs (Wichita, KS, married to Leah Williams Beggs), Joanna Beggs Kraus (Colwich, KS), Jacque Beggs McMillan (Glenwood Springs, CO, married to Jake McMillan), and Jaime Beggs (Wichita, KS).
Janet was wholly devoted to her family. She found joy in caring for children, especially infants, and opened her home to care for young children while her own kids were young. Holding babies brought her true contentment. As a mother and grandmother, she was a constant source of love and support, attending sports events, musical performances, and academic ceremonies to cheer on her loved ones. She took pride in creating handmade Christmas ornaments for her grandchildren each year, a cherished tradition. Once her youngest children were in school, Janet began working outside the home. She spent over 25 years as a bookkeeper for Western Implement/Prairie Land Partners. No matter how busy life became, her children always knew they could count on her.
Janet was equally dedicated to her faith. As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she loved serving others and held numerous callings, teaching children, youth, and fellow members of the church. She was committed to studying her scriptures each morning and found great joy in serving a church mission with her husband in the Wichita, Kansas mission office. Her strong testimony of Jesus Christ and her belief in eternal families were central to her life. Janet leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Elizabeth, her sisters Marie and Peggy, and their spouses. It is with peace that we know of her joyous reunion with them.
Janet is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robin, and their eight children, as well as 22 grandchildren: Cole, Brendon, Sydney, and Samantha Tolley; Aidan and Owen Scott; Breanna Beggs Canning, Brylee Beggs Bortz, Brenic, and Brevin Beggs; Colby, Camryn Beggs McMullen, Luke, and Linley Beggs; Britton and Ariana Beggs; Hannah, Will, Jack, and Alex Kraus; Riley and Reece McMillan, along with five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Phil Kline (Dana), her sister Jane Jenkins (Norman), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Jacque and the rest of the staff at Comfort Care Homes for the compassionate care they provided Janet. We take comfort in knowing that she was cared for with the same love she always showed to others.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 18th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 7834 W 29th St N, Wichita, KS 67205 - Viewing 10AM, Service 11AM.
