Psalm 23

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul; He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Janet S. Coston departed life on August 29, 2025, at the age of 68, peacefully at home. Janet was born on August 14, 1957, to Leonard Smith and the late Marie B. Smith.

She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mount Pilgrim 4th Baptist Church by the late Rev. L.H. Kiefer.
Janet was a native and resident of Algiers, New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a graduate of O. Perry Walker High School, Class of 1976.
Janet worked for Belle Chasse State School and retired from Padua House as a Residential Training Specialist.
She enjoyed fishing, gardening and dancing; she lived a well-spent life.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her father–Leonard Smith; son–Murphy Antoine III; one granddaughter–Nyjah Antoine; three siblings–Ramona S. Borden, Leonard Smith Jr. (Alma), and Michael Smith; niece–Alisha Borden Saul; two nephews–Gregory Lindsey Jr. and Leonard Isiah Smith; great-niece–Jazzlyn K. Davis; great-great–nephew–Zyon Anthony Davis; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to the funeral service on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at Murray Henderson Funeral Home, 1209 Teche Street, New Orleans, LA 70114.
Pastor Trenace Dunns will officiate.
The Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until the time of service.
The Interment will follow at McDonoghville Cemetery, 520 Hancock Street, Gretna, LA 70053.
