Janet Lorane Davis was born on August 5, 1943, and passed from this life on September 11, 2025. She lived a life full of simple joys, deep love, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Janet expressed her love most beautifully through cooking. The heart of her home was always the kitchen, where she lovingly prepared countless meals for those she cherished. Among her most requested treats were her famous banana pudding and a nostalgic favorite was her cornbread and milk. But the star of any family gathering was undoubtedly her Mexican enchiladas, a beloved dish that brought everyone to the table.
She had a special joy for shopping, whether for herself or spoiling her grandkids, whom she adored spending time with. After a day out, she loved nothing more than opening her home to friends and family. Entertaining brought her happiness, and she had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.
In her quieter moments, Janet could be found enjoying country music and watching HSN - a channel that rarely left her TV screen. Her home was always neat, warm, and ready for visitors, a reflection of the pride she took in creating a comforting space for all who entered.
Janet also treasured traveling with her beloved husband of 61 years, Loyd. Together, they shared many adventures and built a lifetime of beautiful memories.
Born and raised in Sequoyah County, Oklahoma, Janet graduated from Muldrow High School. She and Loyd were devoted members of Hillcrest Church, where they found fellowship and community.
Janet is survived by her daughters, Linda Swisher and her husband Mike, and Brenda Davis; her granddaughter Crystal Goodwin and her husband Russell; great-grandchildren Noah Brunk and his wife Kynsee, Anna Lowry and her husband Mason, Cash Limore, Laila Goodwin, and Skylynn Goodwin; and great-great-granddaughter Millie Brunk. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Loyd Edward Davis; grandson, Lance Limore; her parents, John Pink Watts and Hazel Imeline; and her brothers, Don, Earl, and Johnnie Watts.
Janet's legacy is one of love, generosity, and unwavering dedication to her family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
