She loved her son above all.
She began her career at PSE&G as a Human Resources Systems Analyst. After working in this role from 1978-1987, she embarked on a more fulfilling career starting as a Case Manager for Project Protect Battered Women's Shelter. This started her journey in Social Work from 1987-2005. Where she was a HIV Pre and Post counselor, specializing in African American Youth with HIV/AIDS.
While MCing a friend's wedding in 1984, she met the love of her life, Kevin Devereaux. They loved to laugh, loved movies, and most of all loved each other. They married in September of 1998. They were married until the untimely passing of Kevin in 2013. Janet continued to keep Kevin's memory and love alive each day.
In 2021, Janet became a proud grandmother to Aminah Bobbi Millard. She was affectionately known as "Grandma J" and loved making Aminah laugh. She is a joy to her parents Robert and Munti.
