Janet Marie (Soule) Dubuque
With heavy hearts, the family of Janet Marie (Soule) Dubuque, announces her passing on December 2, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on May 20, 1955 in Mount Pleasant, New York.
She was predeceased by her parents Lewis E. Soule and Marion A. (Davis) Soule of Hardwick, MA. her former husband of 26 years and the father of her children, Peter Dubuque of Walden VT., and her sister Valarie (Soule) Kordek of Lakeland, Fl.
Janet was a cherished mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. She will be dearly missed by her two daughters, Jessie Dubuque and husband Robert King Jr. of Tamworth, NH. and Jennifer Dubuque and AJ Seibel of Newark, VT, and by her five grandchildren; Addison and Maeve, Hannah, Morgan, Alexander and Elliana. She also leaves behind her two younger siblings, Barbara (Soule) Davio of Lyndonville, VT., and David Soule of Gilbertville, MA.
Janet was a woman whose life was dedicated to service, constantly enriching the lives of others with her wide-ranging skills and boundless compassion. Over the years, she built a rich and diverse career, from working as an EMT and LNA to earning her pilot's license. Yet, her heart was deeply embedded in the food and beverage industry, where she honed her culinary talents, serving up warmth and comfort to everyone she met.
Whether at the local dairy bar, the country store, a nursing home, or even in the kitchen of her own restaurant, Janet's presence was always felt. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether by providing nourishing meals or offering companionship and comfort to those in need. In her later years, she transitioned to providing private elder care, ensuring that people received not just physical, but emotional support through meaningful conversations and heartfelt connections.
Known for her voracious love of reading, Janet often paired her passions for literature and food, enjoying lively exchanges over a cup of coffee with friends. Through every stage of her life, Janet's devotion to others remained the cornerstone of her identity-whether through a shared meal, a heartfelt conversation, or simply offering her presence when others needed it most.
A Celebration of Janet's life will take place in the spring of 2025, and held at the convenience of the family.
