Sturbridge: Janet R. (Leduc) Giroux, 77, of Park Ave., passed away on Friday, August 8th, in her home after a brief battle with cancer.

Her beloved husband of 57 years, Raymond J. Giroux, passed away on this past December 3rd. She leaves her two sons, Scott R. Giroux of Sturbridge and Michael K. Giroux of Southbridge; her two daughters, Pamela A. Powers and her husband Thomas of Southbridge and Jennifer L. Bussiere and her husband Curt of Charlton; her two brothers, Kenneth Leduc of Middleboro and Barry Leduc and his wife Linda of Southbridge; her two sisters, Nancy Vandal of Woodstock and Sheila Giroux and her husband Charles of Southbridge; her four cherished grandchildren, Sean, Cory, Colin and Caitlyn; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her four brothers, David Leduc, Dennis Leduc, Michael Leduc and Bruce Leduc and her sister, Joyce Chausse. Janet was born in Southbridge the daughter of the late Harry T. and Jeannette M. (Bourassa) Leduc.

Janet worked at the American Optical Co. in Southbridge for over 20 years. She later worked at Galileo Fiber Optics in Sturbridge before retiring many years ago.

Janet was all about her family and cherished spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Dr. Howland and Nurse Holly from Brookhaven Hospice for their compassionate care during her final days

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, August 13th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial in New Notre Dame Cemetery, Southbridge, will be held at the convenience of the family. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Tuesday, August 12th, from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
