Janet Darlene Gwynn,
age 84, beloved mother, daughter, sister, friend and neighbor, passed away peacefully, in her home, surrounded by loved ones and in the grace of the Lord, on September 16, 2025. Janet was born on July 29, 1941, a daughter of the late Veronica A. (Csuti) and John R. Gwynn. She was a 1959 graduate of Malvern High School and a 1963 B.F.A. graduate of Ohio University, Athens.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara (Gween) Csuti and Mary Louise (Gween) Brumbaugh. She is survived by her son, John Gwynn Douglass, of Singapore, and a loving and large extended family.
Janet's life was a testament to love, generosity, and unwavering faith. A life-long member of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception Morges, Janet's faith was an inspiration to others. As a member of the Carmelite Third Order, she studied God's Word and fostered lifelong friendships in the process. She generously supported Catholic schools, churches, and charities across the U.S., helped build Christian communities in Africa, and aided local organizations like the Carroll County Animal Protection League and the Malvern Historical Society.
Janet lived a life full of grace and purpose, touching countless lives with her kindness, talent, and devotion to others. A gifted musician and talented artist, she brightened family gatherings with her music and earned numerous accolades for her artwork. Her creativity and passion were matched by her love for animals, as a member of the Carrollton Kennel Club and thirty years of dedicated service to the Minerva Veterinary Clinic.
Janet's love extended beyond her charitable work. Her love for nature was reflected in her gardens, sculptures, and care for all living things. She loved caring for plants and made sure the birds were fed, especially on the coldest days.
Janet brought joy to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts and memories of all who knew and loved her.
