Janet K Gylling (Fonkert), 80, of Bloomington, MN died peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday October 18th, 2023.
She was born in Sanborn, Iowa in 1943 to Grace and Peter Fonkert. They moved to the family farm in Dawson, MN when she was young. She loved riding horses and running around the farm with her brothers. She moved to Minneapolis in her early 20's where she became a bookkeeper until she retired. She met and married Kurtis Gylling and had their wonderful children. They later divorced and she married Clifford Coffin and became a wonderful step mom.
She loved bowling, rollercoasters, camping, Elvis, the Winstock Music Festival and hanging out with her family and friends. She was a bit of a daredevil and even went skydiving for her 68th birthday. She and Cliff spent the last 13 winters in Arizona where they loved going to flea markets and the occasional trip to the casino.
Jan is preceded in death by her parents Grace and Peter Fonkert, her brothers Gary Fonkert, Terry Fonkert (Teresa). She is survived by her husband Clifford Coffin, daughter Becky Stevens (Larry), sons Troy Gylling (Judy), Todd Gylling (Melissa), step daughter Shari Rud, step sons Kevin Coffin (Esmeralda), Sean Coffin (Jennifer), many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of her life is on Sunday October 29th from 2-5 at the Eagles Club 9152 Old Cedar Ave S Bloomington, MN.
