Janet Marie Hamby, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on March 25, 2025. She was born on October 26, 1953, to Loyal Hammond and Mavis Hammond.
Janet is proceeded in death by her husband, John Wade, and their dog, CoCo. Janet leaves behind four children: Franklin Hamby, Angela Smith, Crystal Covington, and Christopher Cornejo; Grandchildren: Chasity H., Latasha K., Terrance M., Devin D., Frankie R., Avery R., Devin R., Christopher C. Jr, and Chailand C.; Great-Grandchildren: E’ron, Sakia, Payton, Kitana, Azaylia, Dahlia, Kayden and De’Lylah
Janet dedicated her career to working as a CNA, where she touched the lives of many with her compassionate care. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends, sharing her love through delicious meals.
Janet will be remembered for her kind heart, infectious laughter, ghost stories, and unselfishness, but most importantly, for the unwavering love she held for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Rest in peace, Mama, Nanny, Mimi. We all love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck. You will forever hold a special place in our hearts. Save a seat for us in Heaven.
