Janet Lasecki Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marnocha Funeral Home on Dec. 16, 2025.
Janet Marie (Gwidt) Lasecki, 78, Hofa Park, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, December 15, 2025. She was born August 24, 1947, to the late Max and Catherine (Zachwieja) Gwidt.

Janet graduated from Pulaski High School with the class of 1965. Following high school, Janet worked at Northern Shoe Factory in Pulaski where she met the love of her life, Vernon "Pete" Lasecki. Soon after, the couple married on June 15, 1968, at Assumption B.V.M. Church in Pulaski.

Janet was passionate about taking care of St. Stanislaus Church, where she started her janitorial job in 1975 and continued to care for the church until present. She loved leading the "Cherry Tree" at the parish picnic every year.

Janet also enjoyed working for Good Shepherd in home health care where she began her care services back in 1988. She continued the work for over 25 years until Good Shepherd Home Care closed. After its closing, Janet continued her work in home health care for several years. Janet was an avid bowler and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook, baker, and she enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her three sons: Brian Lasecki, Shawano, Jason (Ami) Lasecki, Shawano, and Doug (Leah) Lasecki, Pulaski; three daughters: Deana (Jed) Berndt, Sobieski, Kristen (Ryan) Miskoviak, Pulaski, and Carrie (Andrew) Dudek, Seymour; nine grandchildren: Michelle Lasecki, Dalton, Zach, and Lily Berndt, Kaili Lasecki, Marissa and Alyssa Miskoviak, and Madeline and Josie Lasecki; a sister, Marilyn (Leo) Skaletski; sisters-in-law: Gloria Gwidt, Debbie Gwidt, Margaret Gwidt, and Patricia Lasecki; brother-in-law, Cyril Smith; and many nieces, nephews, and other family.

In addition to her husband, Vernon, she was preceded in death by her siblings: Patrick Gwidt, Regina (Syl) Maroszek, Richard Gwidt, Elizabeth (Roman) Kabara, John Gwidt, Raymond Gwidt, Gertrude (Ed) Kabara, William Gwidt, Martha (Norb) Wanek, Florence Gwidt, and Robert (Melanie) Gwidt; Vernon "Pete's" family: Daniel (Anna) Lasecki, Valentine (Regina) Lasecki, Harvey (Aurelia) Lasecki, Evelyn (Nick) Hannagraf, Rita (Clayton) Ingvalsen, Mary (Martin) Themer, Eleanor Lasecki, Arlene Smith and Ernest Lasecki; and her beloved dog, Molly.

Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Stanislaus Church, W1888 Hofa Park Rd., Seymour, on Saturday, December 20, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon with Fr. James Vacco, O.F.M. presiding and Fr. James Esser, O.F.M. concelebrating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
