Janet Lents Obituary
Janet Charlene Lents 87, passed on May 5, 2025 in Phoenix, AZ. She was born in Decatur, Illinois on March 19, 1938 to Harlan and Alberta Havener. She attended high school and nursing school in Decatur, IL. She served as a nurse at Decatur Macon County Hospital until she and her husband, Gene, moved with their young family to Hoffman Estates, IL in 1966. She stayed in hospital nursing for a while, working part-time to accommodate the growing family.
As the kids grew she transitioned to working at home where she was actively involved in her church, and scouts with her children. She loved spending time with her family, golfing, traveling, quilting and reading. Often when the family was young they would take road trips to visit family near and far. These travels eventually led to many trips to Europe, with her husband of 63 years, Gene.
Jan is survived by her sons Chuck, Mike and Dan; her daughters Beth and Sara; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on May 24 at 10 am in the Life Center on the Beatitudes Campus, 1650 W. Glendale, Phoenix, 85021. Donations may be given to: Andre House in Phoenix.
