Janet Louise (Alcorn) Lindsey, 80, of North East, went to her heavenly home on Thursday August 14, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born on October 7, 1944 in Erie, Pennsylvania to the late Charles B. and Thelma L. (Adams) Alcorn.

Janet graduated North East High School in 1961 and cherished her role in making a loving home for her family.

Always the caregiver, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, cooking, baking, sewing, decorating and playing hymns on the piano.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Judy Ann Alcorn.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Dan Lindsey, whom she married July 19, 1962; daughters, Pam Richter (Jonathan), Melissa Smith (Brian); son, Scott Lindsey (Janice); brothers, Jerry Alcorn (Denise), Carl Alcorn, Ron Alcorn (Bonnie) and Jim Alcorn (Judith); grandchildren, Nathan, Alyssa, Meghan, Ali, and Kaemen; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to Janet's caregivers Jen, Mary, and Katrina for their loving care and compassion. Also thank you to the Community Nursing Services of North East, Hospice for their support.

Friends and family may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Tuesday August 19th from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating the service is lifelong friend Rev. Woodford Stemple. Private interment will be held at North East Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Community Nursing Services of North East, Hospice 7 Park Street, North East, PA 16428. Please send condolences to elkinfh.com.
