Janet L. Maffitt

Warren – Janet L. (Harmon) Maffitt was born on March 9, 1933, and was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was just shy of her 90 birthday.
Janet was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. Palm and Pearl E. Palm Shreves.
She is survived by her three children who will cherish her memory, Frederick L. Harmon (Phyllis) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Nancy Spear (Michael) and Rebecca Cech all of Warren, Ohio; ten grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way and a special grand fur baby Bella.
Janet was a 1951 graduate of Howland High School and a member of the DEB Club.
Janet had many jobs over the years, one of which was Packard Electric, but the job title she loved the best was being a grandma and grammie to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Janet was a member of Gold Star Wives of America, former president of Veterans organization, Girl Scout Leader and DS Club. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing cards and bowling.
Janet was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Maffitt whom she married January 7, 2007; her first husband Frederick L. Harmon, who died while in the Air Force; brother, Lyle Palm and sister Alma Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Staton-Borowski Funeral Home in Warren, Ohio. Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at a later date.
