Janet S. McCormick

Janet McCormick, nee Sanes, 67, passed peacefully on Saturday morning surrounded by her husband and 3 daughters. Beloved wife for 45 years to James (Jim); devoted mother of Rebecca (Derek) Barrow, Emily (Greg) Hanner, and Sarah (Grant) Mantell; proud grandmother of Henry and Whitney; cherished sister of Carol Sanes-Miller (Elliott Miller) and Julie (Chris) Green; dear sister-in-law of John (Susan) McCormick; loving aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Janet grew up on the South Side of Chicago before moving to Highland Park. She graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in education. She began her career as a teacher before transitioning into business sales education. Janet was very active in her synagogue, Beth Tikvah Congregation in Hoffman Estates. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org. Chapel service Tuesday, April 1, 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. The family requests everyone wear pink to honor Janet.
