Janet Marie Moore

ASHTABULA – Janet Marie Moore, 62, was called into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 7, 2025 after an extended battle with cancer.
The daughter of Thomas Q. "JB" and Mattie" Sweetney" Rean (Wells) Hunt, she was born in Ashtabula and had been an Ashtabula resident most of her life, other than the nearly 20 years she lived in Arkansas, where she accepted Christ and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Michael Perkins at New Hope Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas.
A 1980 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she married Emory Moore on October 16, 1993 in LR AR and together they have shared almost 45 years together.
She operated her own cleaning service for several years in Arkansas but spent most of her working career as an STNA with Lake East Hospital and Carington Park.
She served as First Lady of Norris Chapel in Atkins, Arkansas, the First Lady of New Hope COGIC, she also served in the Women's Department, the Youth Department, and the Choir, fully supporting her husband as pastor and her church family. She also loved plants, playing cards (especially Cutz), Keno, travelling, dancing, and shopping with her mother and sisters. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren. Always the role of a mother, she also had a hand in raising a host of other children.
Her survivors include her husband, Pastor Emory Moore; two children, Kaprisha Moore of Little Rock AR and Emmanuel (Shana) Moore of Arlington, TX; three step-children, Omar (Ausia) Moore, and twins, Kaiser and Killian Moore; grandchildren, Jhayden, Jhada, Jherald, Jhoi, and Kyliss; step-grandchildren, Omariana, Khy'lee, Aniyah, Omar, Jr., Killian, Yanialys, William, and Wakiem; great-grandson, Jhayden II; her siblings, Terry Hunt of Columbus, Diane "Dicey" Hunt, Joann "Josie" Hunt, Cynthia (Michael) Allen, Michael (Glenda) Hunt, Jacqueline "Jackie" Hunt, Anthony Hunt, and Eric "Whitehead" Hunt, all of Ashtabula, Roslyn Martin of New London, CT, and Robert Hopkins, Omaha, NE; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her granddaughter, Jhrayah Word.
A calling hour will be held from 10-11AM with a Homegoing service to follow at 11AM on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at Peoples Baptist Church, 3837 West Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio, 44004. Officiant, Bishop Mitchell Jones of Miracle Temple COGIC and Minister Emmanuel Moore will be the Eulogist. Burial to follow at Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Ashtabula, Ohio.
