Jan, Brooklyns grandma, as Madeline called her, will really be missed by our neighborhood. Such a kind and cheerful person. Ill miss her waving from her car as she drives by, her smiles at the trick-or-treaters on Halloween, and her presence at neighborhood get-togethers in the summer. Rest peacefully, sweet lady.
We send our love and prayers to the family. We are thinking of you ❤

To say that my life has been blessed by you is an understatement. I am not even sure I have any right words to say. My life has been forever changed, as you watched me struggle for years with my mental health and always encouraging me to stay focused and while letting me find the direction my life was meant to go. You listened and supported me through so many life events. You took me from my addiction and my own suicide attempt to helping me through the first suicide in my professional career. My heart aches knowing you are gone from this life but, I also know that where ever you may be you can see the life I am living today and know you played a big hand in what it has become. Jan may you rest in peace and be free from the pain and sickness you have been in the last 2 years. The one thing I never took the time to do was thank you for all the time, patience, and energy expelled into helping me for 13 years. Thank you for blessing my life in such a deep meaningful way and believing in my ability to change for the better, there is no possible way I would be where I am today had it not been for you. I hope I become half the therapist you were.

Jan was not only my wife Carla's best friend, but a dear friend of our whole family. Her boisterous and fun fashion sense lives on in several presents she gave Carla and us over the years. Her passing leaves a huge gap in our lives.
