Janet Suggs Perry was born in Newark, New Jersey on September 4, 1958, to the late Ernest and Pearline Suggs and she departed this life Peacefully at home on August 8, 2025. Janet Suggs Perry lived in Newark, New Jersey until the Family moved to East Orange, New Jersey where she received her formal education at Clifford J. Scott High School. She also attended the University of Phoenix where she received her master's degree.

As a little girl Janet attended Greater Bethel Baptist Church where she sang in the Junior Choir. Janet entered the workforce, first working with Antonio Fargas - the actor on Starsky and Hutch. She was also working as a Nurse's Aide and a Caregiver for her mother and grandmother. She also worked as a Director at the Bo Robinson Correctional Facility until her health started to fail.

Janet leaves to cherish her memory: Her Husband Gerard Perry, one Daughter Wakeelah Suggs, 5 Grandchildren Tyray, Talib, Temirr, Shaharizi and Talut, one Stepson Omar Tindell and one Great Grandson Tyray Jr., one Sister Joan Fludd, Nephew Terrence Flood, Niece Kateri Flood, and Nephew Mac Fludd, along with several Great Nieces and Nephews, Special Cousins Pressie Plush & Spunky Edwards, and four Sisters-in-Law.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved Father Ernest Suggs, Mother Pearline Suggs, Brother Ernest Suggs Jr., Grandmother Zeda Mae Fludd, and Sister Cynthia Flood.
