Janet Joyce Rodio

Funeral Mass for Janet Joyce (nee Collette) Rodio, 81, of Mentor, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 9114 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor. Father Timothy Plavac will officiate.
Janet passed away Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2024, at her residence.
Born Feb. 26, 1943, in Cleveland, she had lived there before moving to Mentor 57 years ago.
She graduated in 1961 from Our Lady of Lourdes High School and married her husband, Kenneth Sept. 12, 1964 at Nativity of B.V.M. Catholic Church. Janet had worked at Taylors Department Store as an elevator operator, as a secretary at Pepsi Cola, Glen Ridge Pest Control and Cleveland Chemical. She was active in parish life through the Ladies Society, where she was a past President, member, taught CCD and PSR, was a past parish secretary, and active in raising church funds. Janet was also a Den Mother of Pack 383 and volunteer parent at Lake Catholic High School. She enjoyed visiting Marian Shrines, traveling to Canada, Arizona and Florida, playing cards, bowling, crafts, taking advantage of volunteering opportunities, canoeing, dancing, baking, worship, family time, and story sharing.
Janet was the beloved wife of Kenneth A. Rodio; loving mother of Michael S. (Kathryn) Rodio, John D. (Jennifer) Rodio and David M. (Paula) Rodio; cherished grandmother of Aaron M. Rodio, Matthew C. Rodio, Elaina G. Rodio; dear sister of Judith (Dick) Papez; and aunt of Paul (Kim) Rodio, Mark (Beth) Rodio, David (Kim) Basile, Nicole (Brian) Papez, Danny Collitte, Jennie Collitte, Ryan Papez, Adam Papez, Susan (Mike) O'Karma, and Ronny Glover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Joy (nee Hornick) Collette; and brother, Nicholas (Jean, dec.) Collitte.
Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, at the church prior to the Mass. Burial will be at Mentor Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to St. Bede's Pastoral Care Nursing Ministry.
