Janet Lucy Schneeweis

Janet Lucy Schneeweis, age 89, was called into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. She was born in Manitowoc County to the late Lester and Lydia (Lilge) Prange on March 7, 1936. She married Roy Leonard and together they had three children: Bonnie, Robin and Brenda. On December 27, 1983, she married the love of her life, Edward Schneeweis. To this union, she welcomed three step-sons: Jeffery, Craig and David Schneeweis and one step-daughter, Julie Schneeweis.

Janet worked at a variety of different jobs throughout her adult life. She was a quality control specialist at Tolibia Cheese Factory for 12 years, and worked as a clerk in her later years until retirement. In her free time, she loved to bowl in local bowling leagues, belonged to craft clubs in Sun City, and even tried her hand at cake decorating and quilting. She was a faithful member of her church, Trinity Lutheran Church in Howards Grove. Above all, she loved spending time with her large, loving family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Janet is survived by her children Robin Leonard (Tara Hocevar) and Brenda Kocher, step-children Jeffrey (Betty) Schneeweis, Craig (Jodi) Schneeweis, David (Tina) Schneeweis and Julie Schneeweis (Steve Bluel), and sister Donna Casper. She is further survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in passing by her husband Edward, her daughter Bonnie (Clarence) Mueller, her brother William Prange, her sister Doris (Lloyd) Mahloch, her brother-in-law Donald Casper, and her grandchildren Matthew Harris and Brandon Sanford.

A funeral service will take place at Zimmer Westview Funeral Home, W2132 Garton Rd, Sheboygan, on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Noah Fremer officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be private.
