Janet Mae Schubitzke, 79, of Floodwood, MN passed away peacefully at Ecumen Lakeshore in Duluth, MN on January 2nd, 2025. She was born January 31st, 1945 in Duluth, MN to Charles and Jeanette Rengo. She married Jim Schubitzke in Cloquet, MN on September 26, 1964.
She met the love of her life Jim while working for Minnesota Power. She was the first lady Scaler at Lake Superior Paper (Potlatch/Sappi). Janet was the Grand Lake Township Clerk while they lived on little Grand Lake up until she moved to Floodwood in 2004. She also worked at Morins Siding and Window, then the Floodwood Forum until she retired.
Janet was a member of the Cloquet Independent Apostolic Lutheran Church. Janet's main hobbies were gardening, hunting and baking. What she enjoyed the most was spending time with her family.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; daughter, Jodi; and brother-in-law's, Ted Erickson and Milt Kinnunen.
Janet is survived by her sons, Josh (Sandy) Schubitzke and Jeremiah (Brittany) Schubitzke; daughter, Jeri (Dan) Parrott; brother's, Jim (Laverne) Rengo, Howard (Char) Rengo and Dave Rengo; sister's, Marian Erickson and Aileen Kinnunen; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and many brothers and sisters in faith.
Visitation: 10am to 11am Wednesday, January 8th, 2025 in the Duluth Independent Apostolic Church, 6273 Highway 2, Munger, MN. Funeral service will begin at 11am with a luncheon to follow. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, Van Buren Township. Arrangements entrusted to Atkins Northland Funeral Home, Cloquet.
