Jacksonville - Janet Smith, 88, of Jacksonville, died Feb. 3, 2026, at Scott County Nursing Center. A graveside will be held 11am Tues., Feb. 9, at Winchester Cemetery. The Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville is handling the arrangements.

I have many fond memories of cousin Janet. One of my first is of her taking me for a ride in her MG. She certainly enjoyed that car! We saw each other more frequently when we were younger, and had reunions in Illinois. After I moved to Florida, I saw her a few times at my sister Marilyn's house. I am sure she will be missed.
