Janet Joyce Spitler, age 82, passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025. She was born in Muskegon Michigan on January 22, 1943 to Roland and Donna (Venneman) Holstine and attended school at Muskegon Heights. She married Allen Spitler on February 17, 1968 and was married for 45 years until his passing in October of 2013.

Over the years she was employed by Baxter Laundry, EPC Industry, screw machine and Spec in Grand Haven and ended by being a greeter at Walmart on Sherman.

Her and her husband enjoyed having many different pets and she loved everyone of them so much.

Jan was also preceded in death by her father Roland in 1963, mother Donna in 2014, brother Wendell in 2009, brother-in-law Rod Wright in 2005, and her latest Furry Friend "Toby" in 2020.

She is survived by: her brother, Jeff Holstine; sister, Nancy Wright of North Carolina; special niece Emily Holstine; and a special childhood friend, Joann Taylor of Ohio.

Jan loved baseball and watching the Tigers, but her favorite team was the Boston Red Socks.

A special thanks to all her caregivers and friends at SKLD (Optalis) Nursing Home for making her last 7 months enjoyable. She loved all of you.

In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place. Please consider donating to one of the local Pet Shelter in her memory.
