Janet Stephens Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hile-Best Funeral Home on Jan. 26, 2026.
Janet M. Stephens, 92, of Cranberry, went Home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday morning, January 23, 2026 at The Caring Place in Franklin.

She was born on December 17, 1933 in Nickleville to the late Arthur Lincoln and Lenore (Davis) Mullen.

She was a graduate of Emlenton High School.

Janet enjoyed crafts, sewing, and gardening.

She was employed at Joy Manufacturing as a legal secretary until her children were born, and then she became a dedicated homemaker, caring for her family.

Janet was most recently a member of the Resurrection Baptist Church in Cherrytree. She leaves behind a legacy within all of the churches that she and her husband Lloyd have served. For several decades, she was a dedicated Sunday School teacher for children of all ages. She loved to teach the kids and do craft projects with them.

Her great talent at crafting has always been what she loved to do, and the dA©cor in their home was always her creation for the season. Janet loved flowers and plants and grew beautiful flowers from seeds. Her place always looked beautiful with the flowers she had grown.

She was married in Mariasville on October 9, 1954 to Lloyd F. Stephens, and he survives.

Janet is also survived by two sons, Randy Stephens and his wife Susan of Oil City, and Tim Stephens of Cranberry; three grandchildren: David Stephens and wife Geraldine, Bethany Warner and husband Justin, and Matthew Stephens; and a great-grandson, Samuel Stephens. Also surviving are two brothers, Ken Mullen, and Gary Mullen and wife Charlene; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Daryl, Donald, and Brent Mullen.

Visitation will be held Saturday (January 31) from 9 â€" 11 a.m. in Hile-Best Funeral Home, 2781 Rte. 257 in Seneca, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Josh Peck, officiating. Private entombment will be made in the Mausoleum at Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pilgrim Holiness Church, 1880 County Line Rd., Venus PA 16364.

I'm sorry that I won't be there for Janet's service. I've always liked and respected her very much and I know she will be missed by all of you. Remember those good times you shared with her. May the Lord comfort all of you that she loved and loved her. She lived a good Godly life.

Janet altered some garments for my wedding - My Mom and Dad house sat for the Stephen´s several times; my husband proposed to me at their house on Christmas in 1989- She was a very kind, gracious and talented lady- ran into her daughter-in-law on one visit home and if you are reading this I am still praying.
