It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet E. Stroebel, age 87, on March 25, 2025. A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished community member, Janet's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Janet was born on October 4, 1937 and was a proud resident of New Castle, where she was a prominent and beloved figure in the community. Over the years, Janet dedicated countless hours to helping others, and she was especially known for her deep involvement at Calvary Independent Church, where she volunteered her time and talents to serve others. Her faith was central to her life, and she lived each day with an unwavering commitment to the Lord.
Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Stroebel, who passed away 12 years ago. Together, they built a beautiful family, and Janet was a devoted mother to Paul Stroebel(Sandra), Scott Stroebel (Belinda), and Amy (Stroebel) Ehko (Jim). She was the proud grandmother of 9 grandchildren: Chelsea Romaine(Tyler), Paul E. Stroebel (Morgan), Jacob Stroebel(Stephanie), Meghan Ehko(Chris), Cameron Stroebel, Isaac Stroebel, Madelyn Dragan (Matt), Ethan Stroebel, and Leah Stroebel. Janet was also blessed with 3 great-grandchildren: Ava Romaine, Theo Romaine, and Lilly Stroebel. She will be deeply missed and remembered by her brothers, Henry Karki(Teddy), Mark Karki (Marcia) and three sisters, Debra Hager(Chuck), Caneva Pyne (Marlin) and Ruth Kimmel(Todd). Janet adored her family and was never more content than when she was surrounded by the love and laughter of her children and grandchildren.
A true champion of family, Janet never missed an opportunity to support her grandchildren at their sporting events, academic achievements, or musical performances. Her pride and joy were evident in everything she did for them. Janet also welcomed her children's spouses with open arms, making each of them feel like a cherished member of the family.
Janet's kindness, generosity, and faith have left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will live on in the love she gave, the faith she shared, and the legacy she leaves behind.
A time of visitation celebrating Janet's life will be held at Calvary Independent Church in New Castle on April 5th at 10:00am-11:45am, with a memorial service to follow at 12:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the church in her honor.
