I first met Janet in the early 1980´s. I was around 12, and her sister Susan became my dear stepmom. She was always so friendly and caring and enthusiastic. I looked up to her so much and thought she was one of the coolest people on the planet! She would bring gifts for us girls - some thoughtful and amazing book that spoke to my heart like the illustrated Jane Eyre or the works of T.S. Elliot. She had the best laugh, and I loved to have deep conversations with her. I was so happy to be there for her wedding to Bruce! I could tell how much she loved him and how well-suited they were for one another. I remember Maggie and Rebecca as children, playing with my own little daughter. They were so delightful and kind - just like Janet. My daughter whispered, "I think they are my sisters!" She loved them so! I wished I would have had the opportunity to spend more time with Janet! I smiled every time I thought of her or came across some treasure she gave me. I know everyone who knew her is so grateful for the loved she shared. I´ll miss her, and I´ll continue to pray for her sweet family.

Our girls were in elementary school together! My first vivid memory of Janet was at a parents party in ballentyne. I remember her laughing and laughing and I thought- wow! This lady´s fun! and so sweet! She was always someone who welcomed seeing me with a huge smile and her heart was so full of warmth and love.
I´m very grateful to have gotten to talk to her just weeks before her passing. This really doesn´t seem real and I´m so sorry she´s gone. Her beautiful family will miss her so much. We all will.
