Each stitch, sewn with intention. Each quilt, crafted with love. Through her artful hands and generous heart, Janet Marie Williams wrapped her community in warmth-one quilt at a time. Her faithful hands now at rest, Janet passed away Friday evening, August 15, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and quiet strength.

Born in Akron, Ohio, to Glenn and Edith Switzer, Janet graduated from Akron Buchtel High School in 1955. She earned her Bachelor of Education from Ohio Northern University and her Master of Education from the University of Akron. Janet dedicated her life to teaching in the London City School District, Lexington Local School District, Kinder Camp, Lucas Local Schools, Canal Fulton Northwest Schools, and Madison Local Schools, touching countless lives with her compassion and grace.

Janet was the proud owner of The Quilt Connection for 25 years, where she built a community around creativity and kindness. Her quilts, many donated to MedCentral Hospital for cancer patients, were stitched with love and generosity. She found joy in reading, word puzzles, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Williams; parents Glenn and Edith Switzer; stepson Wayne Williams; son in-law Dean Pahdopony; and brother-in-law Skip Rea.

Janet is survived by her children Michael Gray, Laurie Gray Pahdopony, and Stephen Gray; siblings Glenna Rea, John Switzer, and Linda Detweiler; and many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, August 28, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio. Graveside services will be held the following morning, Friday, August 29, at 10 a.m. in Lexington Union Cemetery, with Pastor Aaron Dowell officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society of Richland County.

Rest in peace, Janet.
