Janet Emma Wolf, born on July 13, 1933, in Marion, Indiana, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2026, in Greenwood, Indiana. Janet dedicated her life to serving others as a social worker in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she made a significant impact in her community. Her commitment to helping those in need reflected her compassionate spirit and her desire to uplift others.
After earning her Master’s Degree, Janet became known for her dedication and the professionalism she exhibited in her career. Throughout her life, she held firm to her values and showed great strength in the many roles she embraced.
Janet was also an active member of the Job's Daughters and the Eastern Star, where her involvement allowed her to connect with others who shared her values of service and community.
In her personal life, Janet found joy in a variety of interests. She was an avid sports fan, particularly enjoying Purdue Basketball. Her skillful hands brought warmth to her family and friends through her love of knitting, creating cherished items that symbolized her care and thoughtfulness.
Janet is survived by her beloved children, Dawn (Hilda Skinner) Wolf, Jody Frick, Mary Ann Wolf-Bennett, and Brian (Reva) Wolf. She also leaves behind four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, each of whom she cherished deeply and who carry on her legacy.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Rachel Berneice Fishturn, her sister, Jean Fishtorn, and her nephew, Kurt Fishtorn. The lives of those who knew Janet are forever enriched by her kindness, strength, and unwavering love. She will be remembered fondly and missed dearly by her family and friends.
