Janette Marie (Stroka) Smith, 89, of Levittown, PA formerly of Tunkhannock passed away Friday, November 1, 2024 at Yardley Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Arthur Smith in 2020.
Born on April 4, 1935 in Tunkhannock, she is the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle (Kristunas) Stroka.
She was a 1953 graduate of Tunkhannock High School. She had a special gift for making those around her feel valued and appreciated.
Janette and her husband, Arthur moved to Lower Bucks County in 1954 to live and raise their family in the Levittown area. Janette had a deep love for gardening and sewing, hobbies that she pursued with passion and creativity. She also had immense joy in spending quality time with her loved ones.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Smith and wife Kimberly, Theodore Smith; brothers, Joseph and Robert Stroka; 8 grandchildren, Kristina Williams-Falank (Korey), Bernard Scranta, Jr. (Sarah), Corrinn Smith, Brenton Smith, Andrew Smith, Dianna Smith, Michael Smith, Katie Smith; 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Richard Smith; daughter, Elizabeth Scranta; brother, William Stroka.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service for Arthur and Janette Smith which will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 10:00 AM from the Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St. Tunkhannock, PA 18657. Interment will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery, Tunkhannock.
A visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service on Saturday.
