Dr. Jani Papajani

Dr. Jani Papajani, age 84, of Peabody and formerly of Albania and Greece, died on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at his residence following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Eleni (Balla) Papajani of Peabody, with whom he shared over 57 years of marriage. Born in Vlore, Albania, in 1941, he was the son of the late Mico and Elpiniqi Papajani. He was raised and educated in Albania. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of Tirana in 1965 and his Doctorate, OBGYN Specialization at Tirana Clinic in 1967. Dr. Jani worked as an OBGYN helping deliver babies and caring for their mothers for most of his career. He lived in Albania from 1941 until moving to Greece in 1992 and later immigrated to the United States in 1998.
In addition to his wife Eleni, Jani is survived by his loving children, Dhimiter Papajani of Peabody and Ela Papayanni and her husband Dmitri Filatov of Cliton, PA; his adoring granddaughter Abby Papajani of Peabody and his brother Stefan Papajani and his wife Margarita of Vlore, Albania. He was the brother of the late Ollga Gjenerali, Violeta Muka, and Pavlina Janka.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025 from 2-4p.m. at the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited.
