A celebration of life for Audrey Janice Alford, age 85 of Gadsden will be held 11am Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Glencoe Hokes Bluff Funeral Home.
Ms. Alford passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Alma Alford; daughter, Janice Turner "Sissy"; and several brothers and sisters.
Left to cherish his memory are her daughter, Renea (Mike) Matthews; sons, Raymond Silvey, Mark Silvey (Rebecca), Jeff Silvey, Billy Morris (Amber), Donald Silvey and Joe Morris (Lisa); sisters, Carolyn Tucker and Sybil Chapman; brother, Judson Alford; 20 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Audrey was of the Baptist Faith. She is a 1957 graduate of Gaston High School. She graduated college at Gadsden State Community College where she got her business associates degree. Audrey got her waste management certification from Rainsville and retired from Keystone as a waste management supervisor. She was an avid gardener. Audrey loved working outside in the yard and enjoyed sitting on her porch; she will be so deeply missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
