Obituary
Janice Marilyn Bendix, 81, of South Bend passed away on August 12, 2023, surrounded by her family. Janice was born on September 6, 1941, to the late Gus and Mary (Raia) Parker in Chicago, IL. She went on to graduate from Riley High School in South Bend. Janice married Jerry Lindstrom Sr. who preceded her in death on August 15, 2017. Janice worked as a secretary for Mayor Maggie Prickett and then for NIPSCO until she retired in 2005.
Janice is survived by her daughter Judi (John) LaViolette; grandchild, Emily LaViolette; brother, Richard (Nancy) Parker; nieces, Deana (Joe) Northern and Kim (Jeff) Pavek; great nephew, Tanner Pavek as well as many dear cousins and valuable friends, especially her neighbor, Margaret Kozak. Janice is preceded by her children, Julie Lindstrom and Jerry Lindstrom Jr.; grandson, Anthony Baker; parents; brother, Edward Parker; and nephew, Sean Beatty.
Janice's joy in life was her grandchildren, Anthony and Emily. She enjoyed hosting family gatherings, traveling and spending time along the water.
Friends may visit with the family from 5-7pm at Hahn Funeral Home, on Wednesday, August 16, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 10:30am at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with one hour of visitation prior at the church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Mishawaka.
