Janice T. Brooks, born on June 24, 1942, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025. In her 82 years, she brought joy and laughter to countless lives with her beautiful smile, infectious laugh, and magnetic personality. Janice was one of those rare individuals who lived life to the fullest, often describing her day to day experiences as "fantastic."
A devoted wife, Janice shared a deep bond with her late husband, Jerry Brooks. Together, they embraced life’s adventures, often traveling the world, creating wonderful memories that would last a lifetime.
Janice was a loving mother to her sons, Ricky Fitzpatrick(Jennifer) and Chris Fitzpatrick (Debbie). She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother, cherishing her grandchildren: Nicky Kirkpatrick (Heather), Melissa Rudolf (Charlie), Taylor Fitzpatrick-Taylor (James), and Mallory Hill (Payton), along with nine great-grandchildren. Her family, including many nieces and nephews, were a source of great joy and fulfillment.
Janice was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jerry Brooks, along with her parents, Mary Alice Jones Treadwell and Obie Ioa Treadwell, and her son, Ricky Fitzpatrick. She is also preceded by her sisters, Rachel McGee and Rose Johnson, and her brother Stanly Treadwell.
Her life will be celebrated with a visitation on February 21, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM, both held at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes Watkinsville, located at 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
