Janice Marie Clark Mackay passed away on November 10, 2025, from injuries sustained in a car accident.
If I didn’t wake up today, don’t be sad, I have lived a long and happy life.
I was born on a beautiful day on April 5, 1933, in Salt Lake City, Utah. My parents are Frank Van Orman Clark and Mary Moesser Clark.
I was married on June 6, 1951, to Bryant C. Mackay in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. My husband died on September 6, 2001.
I have belonged to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints all of my life. My great-grandparents were some of the first pioneers to come to Salt Lake City. I grew up in Hunter, Utah, the best place in the world! Most of my mother’s family lived on the same street.
My favorite callings in the church were the chorister in Primary, the chorister in Relief Society, and being a part of the singing mothers.
I have one sister, Joanne Buckner, and one brother, Frank Clark. I have 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. I was blessed with five children: Bryan Clark, Diana Lynn, Lisa Ann, Benjamin C., and Rebecca Marie.
I am preceded in death by my parents, husband, sister, brother, son, and my two oldest grandsons, who died of Cystic Fibrosis.
I am survived by my daughter-in-law, Ursula Mackay, my son Benjamin Mackay (Rachel), and my daughters Diana McCormack (Ray), Lisa Ann McGeary, and Rebecca Saunders. Also, my 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
You are invited to visit with the family during a viewing on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 10:00 to 10:45 AM, followed by funeral services at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place immediately afterward. All services will be held at Memorial Redwood Mortuary, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
