It is with immense sorrow, we announce the passing of Janice Crowder, who left this world too soon on March 22, 2025, after heroically battling cancer. Born Janice Mary Christopher on May 8, 1952, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and deep devotion to her family and friends. She was the best mom ever. She leaves behind her heartbroken husband, Donnie Crowder, and her devastated son, Jim McEntee (Gus Hall). She is predeceased by her parents, Marie and Leonard Christopher, and her beloved dog, Vinnie. She is also survived by her beloved brothers, John Christopher (Sarah) and their children, John and Erin; Lenny Christopher (Denise) and their children, Ben (Nicole) and Lenora Kivela (Jay); and great nieces and nephews Conrad, Leonard, Eliza, and Peyton. She shared a special closeness with her extended family and cherished all of her cousins.
Janice was a woman of faith who embraced life wholeheartedly. She found joy in traveling, especially her trips to Italy, attending festivals, and surrounding herself with loved ones. She had a gift for making lifelong friends, whether through her time at Greece Arcadia High School, Kodak, or her role as a clerk at the Greece Police Department, a job she truly loved. She formed deep and lasting friendships everywhere she went.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Lynne Toomey and the compassionate hospital and hospice nurses who cared for her, as well as Flora McEntee and Erin Christopher for their selfless and loving medical care and support during her journey.
