Janice Jackline Gummel

Janice J. Gummel, age 79, of Trenton, entered into her eternal rest with God on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Camilla, Georgia, Janice was a Trenton area resident for the past years. In her younger years, she had worked as a waitress at the Merry Go Round restaurant in Lawrence Township. Janice enjoyed baking, cooking, and painting pottery and ceramics. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Daughter of the late James J. and Minnie Lee (Curles) Martin; mother of the late Virginia Sherrill; wife of the late Paul J. Gummel; Janice was one of 7 children; she is survived by her two children, Ann and husband Dan Bannister, and Paul J. Gummel, Jr. and wife Maria; three grandchildren, Daniel Bannister and wife Catherine, Corey Bannister and his fianc Erin Malone, and Amanda Sherrill; two great-grandchildren, Chloe Connor and Jackson Bannister; as well as many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Christian funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2022 at 1:30 PM at the Parkside Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 1584 Parkside Ave., Ewing, NJ 08638. Rev. Jackie Burgess will officiate. Family and friends may pay their respects Monday from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Entombment will follow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville, NJ.
