Janice Jean Hartman, 62, of Bayard, WV, died on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Garrett Regional Medical Center. Born on November 19, 1960, in Elkins, WV, she was the daughter off the Donald Shiflett, Sr. and the late Juanita Jean (Wegman) Shiflett.
She had been a cook for the Stained Glass Restaurant in Mt. Storm and loved spending time with her family and friends.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her daughter, Malisha "Cindy" Gay and partner Dennis Chapman; sons, Timothy Whitacre, Jr. and wife Sandra, and Dusty Whitacre; grandchildren, Shane Whitacre, Ashley Chapman and husband Tylon, Andrew Miller and fiancee Kyile, Hailee Whitacre and boyfriend Mason, Conner Whitacre, and Amari Whitacre; great grandchildren, Airiana, Aaron, Aleigha, Maverick, and Grayson; and her former husband and friend, Timothy Whitacre, Sr.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Shiflett, Jr.
Friends will be received at the C & S Fredlock Funeral Home, P.A., 21 N 2nd St., Oakland on Friday, October 20, 2023, from 5 to 7 PM and on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM after which time a funeral service will be held with Pastor Russell Liller officiating. Interment will follow in the Bayard Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Beginnings Church, 668 N. 4th St., Oakland, MD 21550
